Wow, dramatic 24 hours in the Emini market. Topped out yesterday with an "End of Trend" signal on the 45 minute chart, then bottomed today with an "End of Trend" signal on the 4,500 tick chart. And we're back to where we started.

Video today showing the Professional buying that confirmed a likely rally – but the strength of it took me by surprise. I was out before it really got going! Darn that 'taking profits early' gene I have.

Where to from here? I'm really 50:50 as I discuss in the video. My gut says this was Professional selling into this high volume rally. And of course the market is not going to make it easy for us.

Emini Day Trading: Short & Long Trades (22:22)

Good luck with your Emini day trading over the next couple of days. Remember we're approaching a daily cyclical turn that might be important longer term.

Sometimes things just don't go right. Today was one of those days for me – internet connection problems and no perfect Emini day trading setups.

Tick bar charts are great and I rave about tick charts here. But they're computationally intensive – particularly my longest time frame, 40,500 ticks – and they take a while to load. The internet connection where we're staying is not rock solid and this caused me to miss this afternoon's trade.

And my Emini day trading technique is discretionary – some would say too discretionary! I rely a lot on "End of Trend" warning signals. Sometimes they are just beautiful and it amazes me how they can pick the high or the low of a trend move. And then sometimes, like today, they just come up a little short.

Here's the 1,500 tick chart showing the "Fade the Amateurs" setup:

1. Exhaustion buying volume followed by Bearish divergence
2. Professionals active on the highs, taking profits and getting Short
3. Amateurs buying the test of the highs, expecting the rally to continue
4. Final cyclical turn with very low buying volume and Bearish divergence

The last Emini day trade video went down pretty well. Thank you for all the positive comments. The video below (shorter than the last one!) shows a scalp trade – seemingly against the daily trend. However, there were some clues that the market had reversed, shown in the video and image below.

I took out 3.50 points but the move was good for another 3 points. I think it's a good example of how waiting for the right setup pays off with a nice fast move and "no heat" taken against the position.

OK, the video is 30 minutes long. But it loads in about 4 minutes and you can just fast forward through to the good bits if you want.
