Better TRIN Indicators - Installation Instructions and Day Trading Videos

Installation instructions as shown on the video in text format

  1. Make sure you have subscribed to NYSE and NASDAQ Level 1 data in your TradeStation account (note: each data feed costs $1)
     
    (TradeStation.com > Online Account Services > Add/Remove Data or Features)
     
  2. Open TradeStation, start a new Workspace and create a new Chart
     
    (File > New > Workspace > File > New > Window > Tools > Chart Analysis > OK)
     
  3. Add daily Emini data with local time setting
     
    (Right Click > Format Symbol > Settings > @ES.D > Daily > Time Zone = Local)
     
  4. Add daily NYSE TRIN data with local time setting and hidden
     
    (Right Click > Insert Symbol > $TRIN > Tick Prompt for Format > Plot > Daily > Time Zone = Local > Scaling > Sub-graph > Hidden > OK)
     
  5. Add daily NASDAQ TRIN data also with local time setting and hidden
     
    (Right Click > Insert Symbol > $TRINQ > Tick Prompt for Format > Plot > Daily > Time Zone = Local > Scaling > Sub-graph > Hidden > OK)
     
  6. Check that data settings are Data1 = @ES.D, Data2 = $TRIN and Data3 = $TRINQ
     
    (Right Click > Format Symbol > Close)
     
  7. Extract the .ELD file from the BETTER_TRIN.ZIP download and import indicators into TradeStation
     
    (Double Click Better_TRIN.ZIP > Extract > Double Click BETTER_TRIN_versiondate.ELD > Next > Finish)
     
  8. Insert _Better TRIN and _Better TRIN SM indicators on the chart, check default colors and the divergence signal setting
     
    (Right Click > Insert Analysis Technique > Indicator > _Better TRIN > Tick Prompt for Format > OK > Inputs > OK > Right Click > Insert Analysis Technique > ShowMe > _Better TRIN SM > Tick Prompt for Format > OK > Inputs > OK)
     
  9. Create a second chart with Emini and TRIN data, insert _Better TRIN Osc and _Better TRIN Osc SM indicators on the chart and check default colors and settings
     
    (Edit > Copy Window > Edit > Paste Window > Right Click > Format Analysis Techniques > Remove > Remove > Close > Right Click > Insert Analysis Technique > Indicator > _Better TRIN Osc > Tick Prompt for Format > OK > Inputs > OK > Right Click > Insert Analysis Technique > ShowMe > _Better TRIN Osc SM > Tick Prompt for Format > OK > Inputs > OK)
     
  10. Insert _Better TRIN System onto either chart and check default settings. Each of the 5 systems can be turned on or off by setting the TypeA to TypeE inputs to true or false. If the DoubleUp input is set to True the systems will double the number of contracts traded after a losing trade, usually resulting in better system performance.
